Golden State Warriors Vs Lakers

Warriors Fall to Lakers in Game 6, End Season

Thompson, Curry Lead Warriors in Loss

Los Angeles Lakers Eliminate Golden State, Advance to Second Round

LOS ANGELES -- Klay Thompson scored 27 points and Stephen Curry had 23, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Golden State Warriors from falling to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series on Friday night. The Lakers won 122-101, eliminating the Warriors and advancing to the second round.

The Lakers were led by LeBron James, who had 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was James' first 30-point game in the postseason since Game 6 of the 2018 NBA Finals.

The Warriors struggled to keep up with the Lakers' relentless attack, and they were never able to get into a rhythm offensively. The Lakers outrebounded the Warriors 51-35, and they also forced 15 turnovers.

The Lakers' victory was their first playoff win over the Warriors since 2010. They will now face the winner of the series between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round.
