Grammy-Winning Christian Singer Mandisa Dies at 47
Mandisa, whose full name was Mandisa Lynn Hundley, passed away on April 19, 2024
The cause of death has not yet been released.
Mandisa was born near Sacramento, California, and grew up singing in church. She gained stardom after finishing ninth on the fifth season of American Idol in 2006.
After Idol, Mandisa pursued a successful music career, releasing six studio albums. She won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2013 for her album "Overcomer."
Mandisa's death has shocked and saddened the Christian music community. She was known for her powerful voice and her uplifting songs.
"Mandisa was a true inspiration to so many people," said her manager, Jason Davis. "She was a gifted singer and songwriter, and her music touched the lives of millions."
Mandisa is survived by her husband, David Kreulen, and their two children.
