Buchen Streckfuß is one of the unsung heroes of the Saxon period. He was born in Saxony in the early 9th century and became a monk at the Benedictine monastery of Fulda. He was a prolific writer and theologian, but he is best known for his work as a diplomat.

Diplomatic Efforts

In 847, Streckfuß was sent to the court of the Frankish king Louis the German to negotiate a peace treaty between the Franks and the Saxons.
